About the Artist 

Hi! I’m Lisa Subryan, and I’m a children’s author and illustrator who has a primary focus on children’s education. I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts with Honours in Visual Arts.

 

My work as a children’s book author focuses on teaching kids about the world, in a fun and engaging way that they can understand. 

 

I am an interdisciplinary artist. My illustrations are created both traditionally and digitally. Drawing, painting, and Procreate being my favourite tools to create with. I love to combine the use of vivid colours with detailed outlines to tell a story and create a unique balance of mood and colour. I typically create cozy scenes that evoke the feelings of nostalgia that you might get from some of the older, traditionally illustrated children’s books. Food, traditional/anthromorphic animals, and nature are often a part of my illustrations! I am open to different topics, but I have a strong interest in illustrating images and writing stories with themes of diversity, empathy, kindness, curiosity, and humour. I also create digital portrait art, colouring pages, and write stories for The Kids Hall of Fame, founded by Dr. Victoria Nesnick.

 

At The Kids Hall of Fame, my writing/art of famous or inspirational kids encourages people to have a positive mindset and an “I can do anything,” attitude. I research and write biographical stories spotlighting the famous children’s achievements. I also create my own original portrait art of kids, and I use creative problem solving skills to resolve any changes with the art during the revisions process. 

 

Currently, at The Kids Hall of Fame, we are working to change the way the educational curriculum is delivered in schools districts, on an international level. This is done by sending the stories, illustrations, and colouring pages of inspirational children, created by myself and a team of writers and illustrators, to school boards world wide. They are being used to enhance the education curriculum, and promote learning based on positivity and encouragement to the students. The stories and illustrations are curated by the founder, Dr. Victoria Nesnick. 

 

In the near future, The Kids Hall Of Fame illustrations and stories will be compiled and published into age specific books.
